Vintage queen: an interview with Tsutsu of Wonderment Garments
Vintage queen: an interview with Tsutsu of Wonderment Garments One autumn Sunday afternoon in a quest to rub shoulders with an enigmatic soul I commuted from my hood to Tembisa to go lure a lioness from her den. My mission: to touch base with Dieketseng “Tsutsu” Magabane and learn more about this creative diva and where she gets her unique fashion sense and skill for styling.

Beyond the Surface
Beyond the Surface I’ve always wondered why women shave their legs. Who do leg hairs bother? They warm you in winter and, with the help of sweat glands, cool you in summer – if anything, they’re a win! Every time the question of shaving legs boggled my mind, the rich assumption that silky smooth legs seem to be more a need that bread on tables would settle me. It makes sense; hairy legs are not always a good look.

BAM! Night with Capital Arts Revolution and Art Kitchen
BAM! Night with Capital Arts Revolution and Art Kitchen This was on a Friday on the 23rd of March at an all-access, free music gig in the “Cap City”. In all, it was an eclectic session of live-music, poetry and freshly-squeezed hip hop (much props to the GYG who rocked it!). Visual art and crafts had their own stage as well from sublime sketches of an Eye in which the pupil serves as a travel map of an imaginary condition to simple stuff like tie-die vests and vintage earrings the kind that was dug out from someone’s granny’s kist.

The City Vagabond 2012 (Wesley Pepper – Artwork)
The City Vagabond 2012 (Wesley Pepper - Artwork) The series of dry point prints are inspired by events that took place over the past three years from ‘09 – to 2012. Since my last body the pigeon/city vagabond was a static , bold and sometimes melancholic figure. I represented him as victim of circumstance a tragic figure trying to find his way through the city or life.

Three years on and much has changed. I had to endure major changes in both my personal and professional life and I see myself as a victim who took chances that eventually paid off.

The lowdown on ‘HAIR’piness
The lowdown on ‘HAIR’piness I’m home on a Thursday evening watching my favourite TV program, America’s Next Top Model, one of the few that can make me turn down a night out in town with girlfriends, there are very few of those because I’m not a TV person, more of a pen and paper book crazy. And I watch this very pretty freckle faced woman cry her eye balls out, because the theme for the day was, “I will make you a model” makeover for all contestants, and her makeover included cutting her very long hair crop short.

Lifestyle Series Makeover 2
Lifestyle Series Makeover 2 The MIND is a battleground. Faith or fear, confidence or insecurity, creativity or insanity all arise from this part of our DNA.
