The 80s look

When ladies put on heels

And brothers had dancing skills

To charm those sistas

With hats and gloves

Red lips

Tiny waists

And well sized hips

Black and white

Television sets

Photographs

With stories of

Love letters

From brothers

With bow ties

And

Sun glasses

With masses

At train stations

The destination was

The city of Gold

In search for work

Broken promises

But miseries were left inside

Trunks

Looking good was the pride of the people

It was their dignity re-placed

Today

Not much has changed

With our true colour flat screens

Digital cameras

The black and white

Flash backs are under

A candle which rescues

Us from blackouts

Take a picture of me

Watch it turn black and white
