Manti Maifadi Announces her Debut Release of Children’s Book: Tshimong Ya Meroho le Naledi (In the Vegetable Garden with Naledi)
Pretoria, South Africa – Boipelo Strategic Management Services are proud to announce their first in a planned series of African languages children’s educational books. The debut work from Manti Maifadi, Tshimong ya Meroho le Naledi is a fun and easy-to-follow book with vibrant and colourful illustrations to be enjoyed by children. The book will be launched on 24 March 2012 in Wierdapark, Centurion.
Inspired by her own children, Manti Maifadi conveys the importance of teaching children to grow their own vegetables. Through the character of Naledi, a two year old boy, she captures family values, encourages children to be more aware of their environment, to have fun in the sun and to adopt healthier eating habits.
Manti believes that if we instil in children kindness and respect for nature, healthy eating habits, the themselves will be nurturing, responsible, imaginative and confident individuals.
Tshimong ya Meroho le Naledi is written in Sesotho and is also uniquely crafted to encourage and support the sustainability and enduring use of indigenous African languages and it will later be translated into other African languages.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Born in Qwa-Qwa in the Free State, Manti Maifadi got her ‘green fingers’ and her love for writing from her farther who was a keen gardener and an avid writer. Manti holds a Masters of Science Degree from Witwatersrand University. She is passionate about community development and actively engages with schools to impart her knowledge and skills. She resides in Pretoria with her husband and their three children.
