The following is not composed to enhance ‘the love of money religion’ and to praise the rich or ridicule the poor nor vise versa, but to indicate our oblivious ignorance toward the subject of discussion.
This is the reality…. There are ‘little known” secrets that big business don’t want you to know. Let’s face it, big businesses need employees and so they don’t want these secrets to ‘get out of the bag.’
Secret Number One: JOB SECURITY
True job security is a thing of the past, and here’s why.
Have you ever heard the terms ‘merger’ or ‘acquisition’? You may have heard them but do you really know what they mean, and why they have eliminated true job security? Even though these business practices are very complex, here is a very simple example that exposes the true nature of big business today.
Suppose there was a little shopping centre with two restaurants right next to each other, a pizza parlor and a deli. Each business has its own equipment, employees, and dining area. What happens if these two businesses decide to merge together? Well, all they really need to do is remove the wall that separates them and they end up with one big restaurant.
But there’s more. They soon find out that they don’t need two counters, two kitchens, or two of anything. So what happens? The extra kitchen is sold for cash and the cooks are fired. The extra counter is sold for cash and the counter person is fired. The extra space is converted into more dining room space. So the result is a bigger business, with less equipment, less employees, and a bigger dining area. This means more sales and fewer expenses. When a merger takes place in big business, the people involved walk away with obscene amounts of cash, and you, the employee are little more than a pawn in someone else’s chess game.
Secret Number Two – THE DUAL INCOME MYTH
With so many families struggling to get by these days, most of them have decided on the same solution; both parents work, and they become dual income families. Well consider this example. The second parent enters the workforce thinking the extra money will help the family . . . . HERE IS THE MYTH. After day care, travel expenses, buying lunch daily, dry cleaning and parking, Mom doesn’t have much left at the end of the week. Then what happens? With mom working, there is no time to go grocery shopping or to cook healthy meals at home, so the family orders or eats out, 2 or 3
times per week .Her extra income puts the family into a higher tax bracket and at the end of the year they get hit with a huge tax bill. That’s the myth, when the second parent leaves the home to enter the workforce, the second parent ends up working full time making little or no money at all and they rarely get to see their children often and the whole family suffers. This is your wake-up call . . . . Money secrets (quoted from Warren Buffet)
Think Rich
Thoughts are powerful enough to create habits and actions that determine whether you will be wealthy. “I always knew I was going to be rich. I don’t think I ever doubted it for a minute”.
The spending rule
Spend less than you earn. This may sound simple enough, but many people fall into the credit trap. Take a page from Buffet’s book, he has a net worth of over $52 Billion yet only draws a salary of $100 000 a year.
Don’t Gamble
“Rule No.1: Never lose money. Rule No.2: Never forget rule No.1.” Place your money in wise investments and don’t put it all into one thing. Remember that investments which offer a higher rate of return also offer a higher risk. You only have to do a very few things right in your life so long as you don’t make too many mistakes.
Your associations tell others about you
It’s better to hang out with people better than you. Pick out associates whose behavior is better than yours and you’ll drift in their direction. Give Back there is a saying that goes, ‘the more you give the more you get’. Use your influence and wealth for something good. Buffet speaks fondly of his mentor, “Even though Ben Graham had everything he needed in life, he still wanted to give something back by teaching, just as we got it from somebody else; we don’t want it to stop with us. We want to pass it along too.” Interesting right?
The same applies of me. Just as I got some of these secrets from various people and publications, I don’t want it to stop with us.
