Baba Buntu is an Activist Scholar and Founding Director of eBukhosini Solutions; a community-based company in Johannesburg, specializing in Afrikan-Centered Education. As a Pan-Afrikan educator, writer, mentor and practitioner, Baba Buntu has more than 30 years of experience in conceptualizing and contributing to programs on social development, innovative entrepreneurship and cultural empowerment. He has founded a number of community interventions based on practical approaches to Black Consciousness and decolonial methods. With experience from working engagements in Afrika, the Caribbean and Europe, Buntu’s passion lies within people-centred development for practical empowerment of Afrikan youth, families and communities. He holds a Doctoral and a Master Degree in Philosophy of Education from UNISA.

18th Anniversary KWANZAA OPENING CEREMONY 2019

KWANZAA is a Pan-Afrikan cultural celebration based on indigenous harvest festivals from all over Afrika (in Southern Afrika, known as Umkhosi, Incwala, Dikgafela, Thevuola etc).

Main Program: The program is for the whole family and includes opening ceremony, music, inspirational messages, performance by Kwanzaa Children/Youth and celebration for everybody! After the main program there will be poetry and musical performances, with Open Mic.

Children’s program: Afrikan Play-Skool will run a separate program for children (5-12 years) from 12.00

Food: A variety of great food and drinks will be sold at affordable price

Afrikan Market: There will be a Kwanzaa Market where you can buy books, jewellery, fabrics, incense etc. (traders who are interested in hiring a stand – contact us now-now).

Dress code: Afrikan traditional, royal wear
