Launch of Play: Ignorance – 30 November 2014
November marks the disability rights awareness month in South Africa, followed by the 3rd of December which is international day of persons with disabilities. In recognising this, we would like to invite you and two colleagues to attend the launch of the play known as ‘ignorance’.
In this play we showcase a collaboration between disabled people as well as qualified actors in addressing issues of disability particularly in the workplace and society at large.
We do this with a bit of humour however, without compromising the overall message.
In recognising disability as a human rights issue, recognising our constitution on equality, article 8 of the UN convention on the rights of persons with Disability on education and awareness and 27 on work and employment and lastly the Employment Equity act, we believe reaching hose objectives will be challenging without a deeper understanding of disability.
