The name of the business, Zimba Ramabwe means ‘a house built on rocks’ in the Shona language spoken in neighbouring Zimbabwe. It is from a combination of the two words that the country got its name. To name the business such was inspired by the words our Lord spoke in Matthew 16:18 that “…on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades (hell) shall not prevail against it.” Therefore it being ‘a house built on rocks’ says that it is built to last and storms may come against it but it will remain standing.
The business was founded by Smart M. Maqubela on 8 November 2013.
Zimba Ramabwe is a service company dedicated/committed to: celebrating Afrika’s historical and cultural heritage; restoring human dignity through self-discovery, self-knowledge, self-determination and purposeful living; sharing information about our intellectual prowess as a people, which information demonstrates that we are of equal mental capacity as anyone else in the world, information is power, information is security; promoting Afrikan awakening as well as emancipatory thinking.
We delve into the past only because otherwise it would be impossible to understand the present came into being and what the trends are for the near future. Time is long due, for peoples of Afrika and Afrikan descent to proudly look at the continent, as a land with a revered past and draw inspiration from that past, as a basis for the present and hope for the future.
We are, therefore, primarily concerned only with those things which are characteristically Afrikan, practically universal among Afrikans from one of the continent to the other, including the Afrikan diaspora, and which indicate an ancient culture in a common centre of Afrikan civilization.
We are proudly Afrikan, content to be so, and aspire to be nothing else. Afrika is our guiding star, our star of destiny.
