“16 Days of activism against children and women abuse” was the theme, hosted at the classy Cafe 52 restaurant in San Arcadia shopping centre Pretoria. We where blessed with a mirage of perfoming artists from poets including our very own Vangile, Khaya and Nolindo at the time who performed her trademark piece “Running with wolves”.
One of the most talented bands i know Four Seasons also performed, yeah you can be sure that the crowed enjoyed their jazzy sound. On a more classical tip, Jackie the co-organiser of the gig played the violin – now that is one gifted soul apparently he teaches kids in Mamelodi to play the violin for free; see what i mean? Nombongo and TVB also blessed the stage to name a few.
I can confidently say musically and int terms of entertainment that show was a great success – lol i sure hope the manager of Cafe 52 felt the same way too. Because let us face it, a lot of people who attend these kind of shows hardly spend a few rands to support the host venue – that is myself included. I have learnt my lesson: to get money you have to spend money.
At the end the message was clear “SPEAK OUT”..Love and peace.
