I love this letter, and will pass it on to as many of my male counterparts as I can. And… yes it is true that we(men) will VALUE MORE that which we have had MANY OBSTACLES to obtain, have and hold. After 16 years of on again, off again hell and bitterness, the one that I have always held dearest in my heart because SHE WAS MY CHOICE… AND MORE IMPORTANTLY I BELIEVE GOD’S CHOICE FOR ME… finally began to come together and rather quickly. Viewing the results, I’d say that all we(my gonna be & I) have been through together has prepared me, us for the future that we are about to embark on. And what a great story we have of how we met in the T.P. isle at Target and I knew at that moment THIS WAS THE ONE. So, here we are 16 years later still standing.

@ George I get what you are saying but men and women have different roles to play in society and I’m not saying that it’s left entirely to a man to make sure the relationship is worth holding on to, but I do believe that a man has a certain role to play before the relationship begins in setting up a ground for a woman to be comfortable enough to reciprocate to his chase…We cannot fight the way we were designed whether educated or not.

This article had me absolutely enthralled!!! Well done on a brilliant article man!!! I agree with you on a lot of things there, some things need not be altered because of advancements in technology. Oh and there is a distinct difference between ‘hard to get’ and ‘impossible’ it is quite gauche for women to be oblivious to this. I guess both sexes have contributed to this unfortunate situation. The easy women have made men less willing to be creative.(yes I am aware that it is a sweeping statement so please do not kill me).

Some things transcent race, continent and age. Chasing is a dumb concept IMHO. I cannot tell you of the relationships I walked away from early in my career building phase, when I was expected to chase… er court as we say. That is the phase of life for men when we are finally through getting educated to be productive mates and fathers. I had achieved a degree of education, and affluence and I was ‘worth it’. I don’t say that in an egotistical way, but it kinda is. I was worth getting chased back. So the point: from first greeting to committing publically to be a couple, this is a mutual quest. It can ebb and flow, dating can be a bit of dominant-recessive role playing, but it in reality has to be a game played on the whole field.
