The Tshwane Speak Out Loud Youth Poetry Competition is back for the 2017-18 season and will see poets compete for a share of R50 000 in cash prizes.
Tshwane Speak Out Loud is a youth poetry competition and festival which encourages youth to write and perform poetry that addresses the social issues faced by their communities. The competition is only open to poets between the ages of 18 and 35 who live in the City of Tshwane.
Prizes:
1st Place – R30 000
2nd Place – R15 000
3rd Place – R5 000
Audition Dates and Venues
Friday, 19 January 2018 – Makgoba Sebothoma Hall, Temba
Saturday, 20 January 2018 – Es’kia Mphahlele Library, Sammy Marks Square
Sunday, 21 January 2018 – Mabopane Indoor Centre
Saturday, 27 January 2018 – Olievenhoutbosch Community Hall
Sunday, 28 January 2018 – Refilwe Community Hall
Saturday, 3 February – The Beer Hall, Mamelodi
Sunday, 4 February – Zithobeni Community Hall, Bronkhorstspruit
All the Auditions will start at 12pm – 5pm except the Temba Audition on the 19th of January, which will start at 3pm – 7pm.
