As the holiday season is in full swing, many will return to their bucolic surroundings to bid farewell to a year that was filled with hard work, shying away from fatigue, and the bustle of deviating from honking traffic to being besieged with an unending workload.

Also, a handful of the exodus are ejecting out of the city roads with the adrenaline of achieving desired goals and attempts. For some, departing the city metropolis and being in the midst of loved ones whilst having reconciliatory conversations, creates an arch of serenity. As for the others, the aforementioned is a feat they angst, yearn and long for.

How perfect does a picturesque setting of a sunset filled with dance and laughter whilst moving in the wave and warmth of compassion, a breeze imbued with ecstatic thanksgiving not far from the beach, sound right? Well this scenic backdrop awaits at the south eastern part of the country at the epicentre of Nelson Mandela Bay. Here the Ebubeleni Festival will breathe life into the beauty of this portrait.

The Nelson Mandela Bay Metro Municipality along with its stakeholders present yet another fun-filled crowd-moving experience, – the thirteenth edition of the Ebubeleni Cultural Festival.

Once again on 29 December 2024 at 10H00 when the gates open compassion takes centre stage. Local artistry from in and around the Eastern Cape invites homers and visitors alike to celebrate the social diversity of our country. This stimulating festivity creates a larger platform not only in cultivating the ecosystem, but also by showcasing the creamy and refreshing local creativity in the province.

Zuko SA is set to definitely dazzle the stage and share audience with Zee Nxumalo, Sjava, Zonke, Mandisi Dyantyis, along with local artists on the live featured line up. The hippest and current names of speaking diversity will rope in Daliwonga, Cairo CPT and a variety of deejays including Exceed, Malicon Mr Thela and a plethora of talent in the circuit. Notable and favourite personalities from Umhlobo Wenene FM are anticipating to brace this extravagant and exciting fete.

Notwithstanding the fact that the Festival is in its teen years, throughout its duration, the festival has championed a common cause across societies. It speaks to the very fundamental traits that shaped our communities. Above all, it seeks to redress the spirit of regeneration where social ills have tainted and eroded many moral fibres. It is safe to say, Masibuyiseleni ububele ebantwini (Let us restore compassion in our people).
