As we grow older physically and spiritually, we often ask ourselves these questions: “Why am I here”, “Who am I” and “Where am I going”. Usually these questions come in to light when we’re trying to identify ourselves with the world. It happens in many instances that we find ourselves doing things that we don’t enjoy and mainly because we want to fit-in and please our circumstances in the world system. Waking up in the morning and going to work or school becomes a routine and because we don’t have knowledge of our real purpose in life we take a lot of things for granted. I am not disputing the fact that we do a great job developing our states (Work force & Education Sector) into sustainability for the next generations, but we are not doing enough.
The book of Mark 10:45 says: “For the Son of man also came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom to many.” When Mark wrote this passage, he saw something different from what we are today. A majority of the world has developed what I call a “Mind your own Business” mentality. And this is why there is escalating poverty in the world, crime is uncontrollable and the Political realm is in turmoil. We just don’t care about the occurrences around us.
Paying much attention on the words Mark wrote about Jesus, I believe we can still change the world to be what God intends for it to be. God gave us power and dominion over everything in the world and with the same power; we can either build or destroy our beautiful planet. Let us for a second scrap out the “Mind your own Business” mentality and picture ourselves as beings that give their lives as a ransom to many, beings that are prepared to serve and not to be served.
You see, God intends for us to live healthy and prosperous lives and for that reason he gave His only Son so that whosoever will believe in Him will have eternal life. That is abundance of life given unto us and just as a multi-billion dollar company would wish to give back to the community, we also ought to give back to the life given us by Christ Jesus. And we can do that through serving the people that are struggling to live life as expected. We need to bring back hope in the lives of the broken-hearted, we need to empower the minds of the poor and let them know that, they also can make it to the top. They have to know that their current circumstance does not determine their future.
Luke 4:18-19 (The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, Luke 4:19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.). This book of Luke clearly outlines our purpose in life and we must always know that we need each other because together, we complete the body of Christ Jesus, as we are members unto His body. So with the little resources that we have, we can make a difference in our surroundings moreover when we bring them (resources) together for the work of God
