I feel “Christianity” has lost its relevance particularly to today life. I sometimes feel Muslims love Christ more than Christians do. I mean, you wake up on a Sunday morning, you open up your heart to receive of God’s word and you find the usual preaching. You can go to any Christian church in any country, more than 80% of them will be preaching on prosperity and success of which must come through offerings (money). I am not against tithe and offerings because that is a covenant between God and men. I believe that prosperity and success are God’s promises to men even before we offer anything. I believe that we were created to be His ambassadors here on earth and as such we get to enjoy whatever is due to an ambassador. I believe a lot of truth is no longer spoken by pastors because of their own agendas. I am thinking, if I am not a believer at this present day and I want to learn about who Christ is; I might as well stay home and read the bible myself.
Here is what a lot of congregations are not saying; God created the heavens and the Earth; He then saw that what He did is good so He created men and gave them a task or a purpose:
Gen 1:26 And God said; Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Gen 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
If you were like me; you were not really sure why God would create everything so beautiful, create us, let us live on earth to die and one day go back to heaven; then Genesis 1:26-28 was written for people like us. I lived my Christian life knowing about God and the power that He has. I have seen miracles, I have seen demons tremble in God’s presence, I understand the spiritual realm; I have seen it all and heard it all. But the significance is in knowing and understanding that being created in His image and after His likeness what troubles you on earth should not be an issue. You can simply pronounce it defeated through your own mouth.
Now, Genesis 1:26-28 shows and tells us clearly what our purpose in life is. I highlighted some of the key words which is HAVING DOMINION, BLESSED, BE FRUITFUL, MULTIPLY, REPLENISH AND SUBDUE THE EARTH. You see, if we were created to go to heaven God would have just created us and kept us there. But He wanted us to represent the Kingdom of heaven on earth by having dominion. Before Adam fell into sin, God would visit him in the Garden to commune with him. When Adam fell into sin, he lost his purpose and dominion in life that is why even today you get people that just live their lives without regard to effect. For God so loved us and still wanted us to represent His Kingdom on earth He came down as a child so He can restore Blessings, Fruitfulness, Dominion, replenishing and subduing of the earth to mankind. That is why when you now come to understand why He created you and died for you, it makes it easy to worship Him, Exalt Him and offer your sacrifices to Him. I would love to see the Church (the Body of Christ) restored to its fullness and stop using the Gospel to enrich an individual but to come to a realisation that we are living in the end days and people need to learn why we are hear.
